View Full Version : Opera Broken...

I'm knee deep in **** with this one... I think...

I was attempting to install the MicroB browser, but some dependencies were not met (osso-bookmark-menu and something else) and I couldn't find them. Sooo... I uninstalled the dependencies (microb-engine, microb-eal, etc, etc, etc).

Now... "Web" no longer functions

The window will open and everything, but it acts like it is frozen. I can open the bookmarks, though... Just can't do anything in it. And when I "X" out of the program, I receive an alert that tells me "Web" has crashed. I've tried restarting and such... But to no avail...

Please help! It would be greatly appreciated...

Eh... I tried everything...

Enabled reb-pill mode, reinstalled everything to do with the osso-browser and opera from Xterm, twiddled my thumbs, prayed...

Nothing worked. So...

I reflashed the OS... again... And now Opera is still buggy as hell, but functional. All I got out of this was something like... "Thank god for Minimo!"

If it makes you feel better... I'm in the same boat all of a sudden.

As far as I know this problem (opera not working after installing and removing microb) is caused by the two libraries that are upgraded along with installing microb. They are left in their upgraded state after removing microb. The only fix I can think of (besides reflashing) is to get your list of repositories set up properly and try re-installing microb again. After that opera should work fine (you'll have to do some config so that you can switch to it though, covered in other threads)
