I eventually received my 770, at last.
The device tells me it is a 2.2005.45-7 version: what is your advice, do I update it to the newest or not?
I'm asking because I read that with the newest version the device is a bit more responsive, and I'd like it to happen...
2nd question: what do I lose with the update? Apps installed, settings, etc...

Yeah, go ahead and update it if you haven't set too many things up yet.
The backup tool can backup your documents, files, and the settings for the apps that came with the device. But not the settings for any other apps, nor the installed apps themselves.
So it will take some time restoring things. And since there was a release yesterday, it should be a safe bet to update! But remember to back things up properly!
