Short answer: No.
It's not nearly ready to be a replacement for Maemo yet (especially if you class yourself as 'inexperienced', that is not what the current version is targeted at at all - the N900...

Myriad are already doing that with Alien Dalvik - Meego is set to be one of the first targets. I can't see any commercial developer doing it for Maemo though.
