Does your old SIM (from the previous carrier) work? Or if you don't have that account anymore, try a friend's SIM from that network.


Between the two sims you didn't install the leaked pr1.2...

N900 supports the following(from the wiki) :-)

GSM Quad-band EDGE 850/900/1800/1900

WCDMA 900/1700/2100 MHz, Tmobile 2100 Mhz, U.S only

Telus & Bell's new HSPA network will not work with many phones

Bell & Telus do not have the GSM/EDGE network to fall back on like Rogers/Fido do.

It will not support Nokia N900. Rogers, Fido...

Your N900 is not locked. The frequencies used by Telus is not compatible with the N900, which is why you don't see the network. Only Rogers/Fido (at Edge speed), Wind and Mobilicity can work with the...

some older sim's have been known to not work in the n900.you could ask you provider to send you a new one.

What do you mean it's locked? Is the SIM card not recognized or are you just not getting reception?

It is a rtc/retu feature to be able to wake the device at specified hours.... but I have to wonder which program could have used it. Maybe you have some alarm clock, calendar event ... ?

Are you sure it powered up in the middle of the night, or did it power up just a minute or so after you powered it down?

have a look around ebahy for parts you can purches each item seperatly, i am geting a new digitiser at it is scrached to hell .

Not sure wot postage would be 2 you but is around 25 gbp

Plug your N900 into your TV using the supplied TV-OUT cable.

test touching the screen using different places
if it responds in all expected places == probably mostly ok
if it doesn't well then.....

can you connect to it with VNC? (perhaps you may need to launch the VNC server via SSH)

If you can, then try installing HealthCheck , then once you have it installed, run it, go to the Tools tab...

When i saw this in the Application Manager.. It was an insta' install. Hwo can resist this? We all know that resistance is futile ;)

it's changing the defauls sound files of the system...like okuda sound pack
