Specify the version of the kernel-power, kernel-power-modules and kernel-power-flasher on the command line.
You could search for all the versions in your repositoriesapt-cache policy kernel-power...

As far as I understand it by installing KP with apt-get, first it downloads the kernel plus flasher and then flashes it directly inside Maemo.

Wouldn't this produce the same result what you try to...

On Multiboot's package there is a script for flashing the kernel that can be used standalone.
The code of this script is simple and it is:

You could:
Download the right package from
http://maemo.org/packages/view/kernel-power/
(match the backup dates with those on the kernel)

Extract the kernel.

Restore rootfs & optfs then...

Is the kernel-power version you're installing the same as on the backup image? If not then you'll be missing the correct modules and a reboot loop would be a likely result.

tehowe, try doing this before you run load.sh

Make sure you're not connected to any ap point and do this:

ifconfig wlan0 down

Also make sure you're running the load.sh from the directory...

sudo killall hildon-home
or/and
sudo killall hildon-desktop

from time to time I also run into similar phenomena, loosing all desktop shortcuts, killig home gets me back to working state....

Your optfs on the partition for /home is full. Try to analyze with du -kx /home | sort -n #this time it is neither l nor 1 it is a | 'pipe'-symbol
This will list all folders on the /dev/mmcblk0p2...

This might indicate to a full rootfs like you are suggesting.
Try to reboot, sometimes only the hildon-desktop-process or the like has just died, then open X-Terminal and get some infodf
