Re: How to Customize Boot-up Graphics

Open the application manager and install 'rootsh'.

Open a terminal, and type & run 'root' in the terminal. Then type 'run-standalone.sh emelfm2' and it should pop-up, running as root.

Inspired by the storms that have been around here, and by a Palm application that performs the same function, I wrote a little application to calculate how far away lightning is.

It's simple,...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] mlbviewer_gui for maemo (Beta)

Thanks for the MLB Network link. It's a bit choppy on my NIT, maybe my bandwidth. Anyway, here's a link to the MLB Network Thursday night baseball schedule.

Re: How do I install os update?

Your n800 is running an old version of OS2008 (Chinook) that didn't have the SSU feature which is why you're not seeing any updates.

Like GA says you'll have to flash your device to upgrade to...

Re: A few questions about the 770?

The N800 is an OMAP2 while the 770 is an OMAP1 so there are some architectural differences too (probably the most important of which is that the N800 has support for hardware floating point). In fact...

Re: A few questions about the 770?

Using the latest OS available for the N800, it will support SDHC cards (2 at the same time). If you really are using it mostly for audio/video, dual SD cards would do it for me.

Re: A few questions about the 770?

If you just want a MP3/Video player, I would not go for a 770 or a N800. Look at the iPod (touch or classic), Zune, or something similar. They are ridiculously better for MP3/Video. Not sure about...
