You need zeroconf functionality for this.

In all linux derivatives (maemo just one of them) you need to install avahi-utils. So have you installed it?

Can you format to ext2 which doesn't have a journal and is mountable on Linux? I use ext2 for SD cards so file permissions are maintained.

else
mount -t vfat .....

Use "apt-cache search gstreamer" for a listing of all available GStreamer packages. The package you want is probably "gstreamer-tools" or "gstreamer0.10-tools".

First off, setting Garnet VM to 64 megs was bad advice. The hell did you suggest that for bun? :D

64 megs will take a huge chunk out of your internal memory, initial loading time will be huge...

You can use the status bar app called Load Applet (http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/load-applet/). You can only get to it when in non-full-screen mode, but it usually will kill the problem...
