i once had a deb file of chromium but i have to search for it whether i have it or i deleted it because i never like it on my N900's small screen.

Try the following as root

lsmod | grep g_
Now remove (all) the module(s) listed. Normally only one (like g_file_storage). Replace xxx with above listed module.
rmmod grep g_xxx
And load g_nokia...

Yep, you should try that.
Sorry I thought backupmenu had a shell on its own (like backupmenu-multiboot has when pressing 's').. For sure kernel with frame buffer support is needed and a little hack...

backupmenu-multiboot and backupmenu are two different pair of shoes.
So this will not work. But midofayad (or some other kind soul) prepared an update. Google or power search will help:...
