It's just a matter of Symbian being around and mainstream for a few years and Maemo not really. You have 1 Maemo 5 device and it didn't reach the stores with the same amount of units or publicity as...

Well, there is a very simple way that only occured to me now:

QString path = QFileDialog::getOpenFileName(...);
QDir dir = QFileInfo(path).dir();
