Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

I'm glad the packages I compiled for Harmattan GST were useful. I've been away from development for a while, but I will see if I can get my dev environment working again, at least enough to update...

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Some of my best memories from the Maemo events were with Gary. Stumbling around Berlin with him and Jott after too many beers, with him laughing and catching me as I repeatedly tried to fall on my...

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Well, there's a little more to it... You'll want it to do some intelligent things, like scroll text that doesn't fit (some set amount of times, then stop scrolling) which requires you to rotate your...

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

So, branch it. I mean, what else is going to happen with it in Diablo? It's fairly stable, all it will need is periodic protocol version bumps... Honestly, I'd just code something so if it gets "bad...

Re: Nokia N950 vs Nokia N9

Before I even knew about the N9 or N950, I was using the N900 for my phone and was looking around for other possible options (was honestly assuming the N900 was the end of the line from Nokia). My...

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Yeah, and actually mine is STILL ******edly buggy, I thought I had it fixed last night but then today when I tried to use it on 3G i realized it still had ridiculous timing issues so it's back to...

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

I'm not really looking for long-term maintenance (who ever is?), I was just trying to get it working in the meantime for myself and other people who were missing Pandora *now*. If you want to keep...

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Ok, I did the port myself to Harmattan. Important notes:

Now using PySide instead of Qt4. Almost a completely clean swap of the includes is all that's required, with the exception of one of your...

Re: [OS2008] Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Yeah, the control panel display applet is completely separate from ABL. One of my long-term goals was to rewrite it and replace it with my own completely, but that never came to fruition, as the...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Can you give me a dump of the gconf display settings? I forget where they are exactly at this moment, but there's one for brightness (which is 1-5, IE the default nokia settings). The way the applet...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Yeah, the script was essential in getting 0.14 done so quickly, as creating the new default iconset took about 5 seconds. :)

The other two iconsets (LCARS and Hildon) are just renamed and...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Ok... So, here the first official (test) iconset created with your script. It is, as all tests (and most art generated by programmers) should be, very horrid. The horribleness of the set has nothing...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Note that I have already fixed the bar in the default iconset as of 0.13.

Your script sounds like an excellent idea though. I agree with you on almost everything there... The 0/1 indexing mixmatch...

Re: A2DP works, help me test it?

honzik: two problems. First, your mmc2 is probably formatted vfat, so it does not have a concept of file permissions, really, as the filesystem does not support them.

Second, it is probably...

Re: A2DP works, help me test it?

Yeah, that happened to me too, but fortunately I was using root on SD, so I just booted up to internal, chrooted into my SD, and reverted things until I found the problem.

You can use something...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Sorry, haven't gotten around to mentioning that this was fixed already in 0.12, since we never got around to making that release public.

Re: How to rotate screen on os2008

I do believe I have solved the -unlocked hardware dependency problem. I will make another post on ITT about it, but you can talk to me on IRC.

I also very nearly have a "rotation-support" package...

Re: How to rotate screen on os2008

Yeah, I would say that anyone who is willing to install something like rotation support and do a kernel flash may as well be forced into using -unlocked software-version package...

Re: How to rotate screen on os2008

As a note, you can also now use Advanced Backlight instead of the rotate-sb-plugin to handle rotation, which is yet another less statusbar icon. :)

See here:...

Yes, the problem has been found and fixed. I pushed 0.11-2 to extras just now, it should hopefully be available soon.

As for the volume beep issue... I think it has something to do with the way...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

It could be cool to combine bluetooth management as well, but I'm really starting to worry about feature creep taking a good applet and making it into a bloated mess. Therefore, I've decided to limit...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

So, my n800 is working again (for now)! It looks like the onboard flash memory may be semi-broken, but it only seems to become an issue when I get it near 90% full. I guess somewhere towards the end...

Re: Advanced Backlight Statusbar Applet

Unfortunately, there is no real way to keep this in sync with the original applet. It does not handle brightness in the same way, and going back to the original applet is kind of pointless with this...
