My daughter uses it for playing music in her room and taking notes. Alas, it's starting to come apart. We have a rubber band wrapped around it to keep the top & bottom halves together. :-)

That's right. I've delayed installing ASUI for this very reason -- to try to better isolate this problem.

It is, as long as you work around the design flaw. If you just pop it into your Internet Tablet, it might not have a good enough connection to the leads & your tablet might not turn on at all or...

I ran "apt-cache showpkg gstreamer0.10-plugins-good" on my N810 and this package apparently comes with the firmware. Skype has it as a dependency, so I'm assuming it uses it. Perhaps the Media Player...

Actually, I would steer you to Mer. Mer just got rebooted a month or so ago as the future of community-driven MeeGo Core. The Cordia UI is based on Mer. The KDE folks' Plasma Active user interface...
