1.2 A flowing through spring connection could cause a lot of heat being generated at the point of contact with pads hence to choice for soldered hard connection, I suppose? That's probably the reason...

This has been answered many times on this thread mate, just use the search next time...

In short you need to connect your n900 to computer in mass storage mode and then go into properties > tools...
