As I understand it you can Skype another handset without it having Skype loaded but to do this you must buy Skypeout credit. Conversely a smartphone with Skype loaded acts like any other skype client...

At the very minimum you will be paying for the data transmitted (via your 3G or WiFi/broadband accounts) But this is minimal. Get yourself a SIP account with a local provider. I use VoipVoip who are...

Maemo is kaput! Meego is go. Meego is a combination of Nokias Maemo and Intels Moblin operating systems. You can flash your N900 to Meego now but don't bother, it isn't ready for prime time yet...

I am also interested in dual sim adapter for my (as yet undelivered) N900. In S60 the dual sims add a small app to Applications folder that allows changing from one to other sim - still not an ideal...
