Works fine for me with O2Germany.

For a period I had an error with "Failed to load 'Mein O2' " , but deleting the www2sms folder and reinstalling the app fixed...

Polling a file under /sys typically makes no sense. The files you find there act as handy nameholders for different parts of drivers and doing open + read + close makes the driver create the content...

If you mount anything into /home/user/MyDocs you need to edit /usr/sbin/osso-mmc-umount.sh to unmount them before it tries to unmount the MyDocs device...
