May I suggest using Debian8 instead? The installer is pretty pain free now and it still stays close to the debian roots that are familiar with maemo.

I gave ubuntu a shot for 2 years and still...

Yeah, I mentioned it in the pull request, however it works for me, that's why I decided to release it.

I have no problem with the dataconnection in the Events View (as of now) and everything works...
