flash your device in open mode with an open kernel (see ubiboot)
this is the right thing, else you will often run into/against the aegis wall
or try to handle that with aegis-dpkg or other hacks...

Use wget to fetch an dpkg -i to install

As a phone, it works fairly well. Cannot think of any complaints. Speakers quiet? Well, it may be just my worn out device, full of dust or something.
