Just to clarify: On LCD screens (such as those in the tablets, and on most desktops), white uses less power than black, and in general light uses less power than dark.

The opposite is true for CRT...

The problem here is that continued development in a lot of areas depends on having the information Nokia is withholding. Take the Application Manager. There's a fair bit of interest in improving it...
