on xterm:
leafpad /etc/bluetooth/main.conf
then change the line:
"DisablePlugins= network,hal"
to:
"DisablePlugins= network,hal,input"
save,
restart.

Now should work.

You're stuck in the past dude :) There is NITDroid 1.2 already and you installed 0.8? anyways long story short you removed vital files for maemo to function FULL format is what you can do.

At least few app has side effect like that and one that I can remember is Maemo6 / Fremantle demo. Uninstall suspicious apps one by one and re-try theme selecting.

No. It's an operating system on a CD, so you'll just be booting it from disc. And then once you've finished with it, you can re-boot back to Windows.
