Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I tried that repository earlier but could not connect so I tried the repo.maemo.org one. Now I tried this one again and I successfully updated to -thumb.

Re: [script] Listen to iheartradio (mplayer)

Found an easier method. The XML URL does not work for all stations and the station ID is hard to find.

They use a JSON API for getting the streaming info for the flash player on their site and you...

Re: GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

The data package is not installed by default so I find it hard to believe it would cause problems.

I have attached them to the original post. You're free to try them.

Updated Telepathy for GTalk Voice and Video calls

June 2011, Google changed their protocol for video and voice calls. Our N900s were no longer able to make video and voice calls.

Our phones use the telepathy framework that Gnome uses so upstream...

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

I took down the 12.0 nightly link. It should not be used by anyone.

8.0.1 is the last Fennec version that will have a fast JavaScript engine. The newer Fennec versions may have a faster UI but...

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

I just posted a new GTK Fennec 14.0 package. It's slower than previous versions so I'm not sure why you guys want it.

Re: GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

Yes, I tested this on a N900. I wouldn't have posted these packages without doing so.

Size, but even then it is a very marginal difference. I first got 2.22 compiled and then 2.26 so I went...

GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

Just when I thought I was out, Google pulled me back in.

I got frustrated that Google broke GTalk Voice/Video with our phones and I've started a quest to fix it.

First off: GLib provided in...

Re: Fennec 8.0.1 and 12.0a build (Nightly)

That should probably happen now that Mozilla has pulled support. I'll think about it.

Fennec 13.0 has been posted to the OP. I have used it for surfing a few regular sites and did not see any...

Re: Fennec 8.0.1 and 12.0a build (Nightly)

I'll see about building an updated Fennec in the next few days. I haven't touched this since I first posted.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Testing

After 4 days and no reboot, I am going to go ahead and say this one is fixed. Thanks freemangordon/pali.

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

I have built Fennec 8.0.1 and indeed find that sunspider is faster over version 12. I have uploaded the deb and updated the first post to the link to it. Fennec 8.0.1 will probably be the last built...

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

I test built with gstreamer enabled, but this did not provide the <video> h264 support like you thought. Upon reading up on Firefox and gstreamer, it seems support is not finalized and still in...

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

I never saw a performance difference between GTK and Qt builds so I think any opinion on the matter is purely subjective.

In regards to a binary build, I tried one and it failed to link properly....

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

Use Adblock nightly to have Adblock.

As far as putting it in Extras, I will need to do more research on the branding. I am not sure I can upload this as "Fennec" with the Mozilla art work, but I...

Re: [Announce] pyOBD for Maemo/n900

I wrote a pure C and pure GTK app that works on my N900 and linux PC that talks to my bluetooth ELM adapter. I just need to get it into Extras.

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

OK. Optified package is now uploaded. Same code snapshot.

I'll put together newer builds when something significant happens. I feel it would be pointless to replicate the nightly schedule.

Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

I like to use Fennec everyday on my N900 and version 10 was not good enough for me. Luckily Mozilla has not ripped out all of the Maemo makefile scripts so it is easy enough to compile the latest...

Re: People who do not use cssu, why? I dont care if you use it or not! First post updated again 1.13.12

I just took the leap and installed the stable CSSU. Worked great. On the surface very little is visibly different, but I do like the portrait mode for the desktop. I'll probably enjoy the bug...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Devel

Yes, as you can see there are multiple backtraces. The last ones are from KP49.

I have reported my rebooting to you and pali for a very long time (check this thread). It's my mistake I never...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Devel

It happens every 2-3 days. I don't have syslogd installed, but I will attach mtd2. It looks like the kernel is crashing in the WLAN driver. It is attempting a memcmp() on a NULL variable.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Devel

If I use the Nokia kernel it never reboots.

I'm not using any "speed patch" or any of that other non-sense.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Devel

Yes, it reboots while completely idle. I've had the phone sitting on my desk and saw it reboot.

-No background programs running.
-No SSH connections
-No IM connections
-Just connected to WLAN,...
