Hi all,

It is with sadness that I have to report that I heard from Gary's wife today that he died last night. I don't have much by way of details.

Gary was important to me in my connections to...

Re: Broken MicroUSB idea: Creating a new connection

and I'm out. sorry, but this is useless

R.I.P. RX-51, you served a noble purpose to teach a soldering noob about soldering being not that easy. Maybe even taught 2 helpful "Engineers" about...

Cool Stskeeps says bye! o/

Hi guys,

Think it's enough by now. And this isn't going to have one of those drama comebacks. I've been on here since a long time, helping out with your devices, problems - and it's stopped being...

Re: unable to uninstall *#Starhsah Enabler

USSD ( 3digit *NNN# ) works since PR1.2 iirc without *#-ena
network control codes ( 2digit *NN# ) need *#-ena to work

If HAM refuses to uninstall *#-ena, simply open menu in dialer and set...

Re: Broken MicroUSB idea: Creating a new connection

The D+/- pins are correct but missing any ESD protection, so are not exactly a replacement for the USB receptacle contacts. Refer schematics, V5301 and Z5300 - the D+/- pad shown here are the J5300/1...

Re: [announce] swappolube to lubricate your gui

Great to see hacks and tweaks moving from being command line guru required to being nicely packaged up and reproducible by yourself and others!

However, because this is a package which will not...

[announce] swappolube to lubricate your gui

I liked so much the kernel hack described by kaze.daniel (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=815333&postcount=54), allnameswereout (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=815391&postcount=59) and...

Re: what is this community prepared to do for us regarding the N900?

You do NOT ask for everyone on this community. I don't think you are a spokesman for the community. You certainly aren't a spokesman for me. You are the most divisive "rah rah" community poster I...

[Petition] For Nokia to Open 100% of the Closed Components in Maemo 5/n900

As Nokia focuses more and more attention on Meego/Harmattan, it appears that the majority of the responsibility of supporting the existing platform of Maemo 5/Fremantle will fall on the community. ...

Re: [Announce] portrait-keyboard: Portrait-friendly system-wide keyboard

I don't think you quite understand what this is. Unlike vertsms, this works everywhere you have text input - it's a regular virtual keyboard, not a separate application.

Vertsms is really not a...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!

just a short update, also a bit of a reminder for myself ;)

I can't speak for others working on the project, but given USB is required for charging, I would prefer to take a little more time up front to check and minimize the number of software...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!

Grouding the id pin sets the a_idle state, not a_host.

If I plug in power after I plug in a grounded ID pin,

/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-1/1-0048/twl4030_usb/linkstat

does not change to read...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!

This isn't OTG. It is NOT easy to use for anybody, as it doesn't exactly work at all yet. If eventually we get to have a plain working hostmode, then a simple adapter A-FtoA-F will suffice, together...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!

Don't worry, as doing any id pin work is meaningless, unless ID pin is also connected to isp1707 (which it isn't afaiu), or twl3040 is in some hardcoded way altering the behaviour of the SoC's usb...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!

imo using a modified cable/adapter should be avoided. Priority should be given to fix the driver, instead of exploiting it.
