At one point I was unable to click on the LXDE main menu but Ctrl-Back and back into LXDE fixed this. Anything y'all want me to test glitchwise?

I think you have to enable squeeze repositories, get Abiword from those, and then roll back to lenny. I got the same blank screen as you, so you're not crazy.
