Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

For me it still autpmounts MyDocs, but with incorrect parameters, leaving root the owner. Attempting to write to MyDocs as user fails.

Had to manually unmount and remount with uid= parameter.

Re: ["Help" request] Strange and serious software'ish problem with Maemo's call/messaging system (?)

In my experience, fsck on flash/sd always ends in tears. It was disabled until cssu, then enabled and wrecking partitions, then disabled again, and now I don't know if it's armed to nuke /home or...

Re: Shouldn't the system detect and reallocate bad sectors in flash memory?

Dd was a typo.

Although we don't really know the exact algorithm used by the emmc, I believe if we actually tag the whole physical block, it's unlikely it wojld be used again.

A bigger issue...

Re: Shouldn't the system detect and reallocate bad sectors in flash memory?

As for typical dd and emmc, keep in mind that the typical block size is much larger than filesystem blocksize. The physical block, when erased, can only be written to once, before it must be erased...

Re: Disabling screen backlight *completely* without locking screen?

It lowers backlight brightness if there's lots of dark colours on screen. It has different modes, accessible through /sys only, for movie, photo, etc

Probably does nothing on highest and lowest...

Re: Disabling screen backlight *completely* without locking screen?

Setting brightness in settings to max or lowest first, and disabling power save feature, could perhaps stop it from changing brightness again when ambient light changes.

Re: Battery Tests, Homemade 3000mAh XL Battery & Q&A (POST #1) - New Layout

bme, replacement bme, and charge*sh are all mutually incompatible with eachother.

Re: Battery Tests, Homemade 3000mAh XL Battery & Q&A (POST #1) - New Layout

Technically the hardware is capable of it, and I sometimes used it in my own charge script. Dunno if replacement bme / kernel bme offers that tunabke though.

As for battery overheating, the bigger...

Any way to get smaller font? I count approximayely 30x11 chars on screen, which is around what I had on IRC in 2002-ish on a java featurephone with considerably less screen resolution :)

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

With stock bme, new applet seems to use last_full, not design capacity. I have a 10 cycles.old BL-5J, design capacity 1415, bq27200 calibrated capacity of 1515, and bme last_full of 1215.

We all...
