N900 wont let you down... a bit slow, and no frills these days, but if a portable linux device with a physical keyboard...

Any android app which does NOT use google services 'should' work..
So anything in amazon store (which is pre installed now) 'should' work with no issues.

N900 was/is never a smartphone(dumb users).
N900 was/is a MID (mobile Internet device) which is closer to a portable PC then a mobile phone and it's hardware (keyboard/stylus) is proof of this.

I think android is getting better, ie lollypop.. more native support.
I'm still on my N900 but have a tablet with android.. not sure when or if I'd switch to it.
