Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Just to be pedantic, Nokia had a tendency to use "Torx Plus" (IP) screws, not Torx, this is typically why battery swaps on the N9 result in trashed screws as people use an incorrectly sized Torx...

Re: Things That Kinda Suck About Modern Mobile Devices

Excellent points, being able to develop on the N900 for the N900 is a very liberating experience and completely fits with the full desktop experience as you describe. I would like to completely...

Re: Things That Kinda Suck About Modern Mobile Devices

The real issue lies with the expected core use cases, 10 years ago the primary use for PDAs/Phones was for accessing local content with the occasional syphoning of low bandwidth data for terminal...

Red areas seem to be most vague on the...

Re: Announcements

Exciting news on the 5GHz WiFi testing, it will be very interesting to hear how this can be done. One of the main downsides of the N900 for me was the shared Bluetooth/WiFi antenna which required...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

I can't find a definitive answer regarding the choice of module for WiFi / Bluetooth. Has any decision been made in this area?

I'd love to see 5GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 4 support but noticed the...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

The multi-touch is a nice add on, I recall reading somewhere about a design like the N900 that used a capacitive touch sensor under the keyboard. This allowed the keyboard to be used as a touch pad....

Re: Extra Security for N900 against paired Bluetooth phones

There does not seem to be any granularity in the services granted to paired bluetooth devices. Once paired and trusted the remote party has full access to all the services on the N900.

Don't pair...

Re: Media Player - Playlist Creation (was: N900 MUSIC PLAYER - Are we kidding, right?)

To do this you need to use the very slow and tedious long press on each track you wish to add to the play list.

The key to remember is that you only have the 'Now playing' list available to you...

Re: N900 MUSIC PLAYER - Are we kidding, right?

The media player will load m3u playlists. As i have all my media organised in separate directories I have found the best way to generate these on the device is to fire up the xterm and use find....
