Thumbs down I'm Done, Good Riddance Nokia

Tired of using a N900 that:

Is so poor at multitasking that I can't answer the phone when it rings
Relies on 3rd-party apps for key features like MMS, iSync, bluetooth, and distinctive ring...

Re: [Maemo 5] What are the "must have" (top, best, most useful) applications?

If it hasn't been mentioned, Auto Complete Editor -- so that you can keep misspellings or other annoyances out of the dictionary

Re: If you dropped your n900 down the toilet - would you buy one again?

If you want a phone, no. Definitely not. Too many issues with charging and battery life, contact management, no distinctive ringtones, poor touchscreen and interaction modes, no supported MMS, crap...

Re: [Council] Nokia response to MyNokia subscription in PR1.2

Quite possibly a violation of Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17529 unless Nokia can convince the courts that they have an ongoing business relationship with the user. The fact that there is a cost to...

Re: What's the problem in Nokia!? People is not working as a team!!

I've been a huge Nokia fan since the 90s. I waited for the N900 in the face of the iPhone and Android devices.

In my opinion, Nokia has bigger problems than fixing the N900. The are "six of six"...

Re: Firmware to be released Q1 of '10. MMS to be supported.

Because not everyone out there, or even the majority of people, have an Internet-capable phone that

pay additional for Internet access
have an email account they can connect to
have...

Re: A-list applications for N900 - what do you recommend?

This is a "must have" (v3, with safe handling of the file and memory) for me as well. The compatible Maemo app (regrettably) of the same name out there now is old and insecure. The "real"...

Re: how to record IR from my remote ( from my n900 )

I would think a good way at this would be to port lirc (http://www.lirc.org/) to the N900, allowing the widely available configuration files to be used, or created on any other lirc host and...

Re: Solution: N900 Charging from dumb power sources

As an EE, I find that hard to swallow.

As long as, within reason, the proper voltage is being supplied to the USB port, then it is up to the charging circuit to determine how much current it will...

Re: Firmware to be released Q1 of '10. MMS to be supported.

Remember that the vast majority of phone users out there don't have an e-mail capable phone that they have been able to successfully connect to an email account. MMS is far from "a useless feature"...

Re: Nexus One vs Nokia n900, what would you recommend?

Alas, that is what Nokia seems to be missing out on.

The iPod became the preeminent MP3 player not because of great hardware, but great integration with a source of content, even with strong...

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen Protector Thread

Ultrasuede is washable, yes.

Just got mine and can vouch for good construction and exactly what I needed -- something to keep it from getting worn/scratched in my pocket without making me buy the...
