Yea fair enough. And yea kind of silly the Desire has the hardware but is not being utilised.. I ended up buying a battery operated FM transmitter of ebay here...

The N900 has this function built in.. It even has a "New IM" button in the coversations app next to "New SMS" on your phone.

I have mine set up so that it connects to Facebook chat using Jabber....

I used a small hand grinder with a sanding disk wheel and of course saftey glasses also. I would not recommend using a file as the metal shavings could get down in the small gaps of the plug and...

After worrying every time when I disconnected my charger it would be the last I went and bought a new charger today and grinded it down. I also had a spare CA-101 usb cable which I also grinded down....
