Re: How can i know the password of my neighborhood password wifi

Just follow these couple simple steps:
1) Go to your neighboor
2) Ring the bell (if they don't have a bell, knocking on the door would also help)
3) When they open the door, just gently ask for...

I love this tweet (http://twitter.com/#%21/sandst1/status/106586612292534272):

"Steve Jobs is NOT stepping down. He meant to write "I reign as Apple CEO," but the auto-correct on his iPhone messed...

Re: Increase in rude and/or ignorent people lately

I felt this same exact way when the N900 was released and I didn't make the jump.

The folks that came in, knew nothing about ITT, hated us old-timers that kept our N810's, the folks that resisted...

Re: Elop on Helsingin Sanomat: N9 the last Meego phone even if it is succesfull.

This is off-topic, but that's just insane. Comparing quality newpaper to to a trash tabloid. Helsingin Sanomat is a daily newspaper of the highest quality.

Re: should d**kheads who anonymously troll via tags have their tagging privileges revoked?

I have your solution.

Make tagging available to people with high post-to thanks ratio. Whether this is fixed or not, it's debatable. Keep it at 1:2 ratio or so.

On the funny side, I vote we...

Re: should d**kheads who anonymously troll via tags have their tagging privileges revoked?

I agree with ysss that the issue is being blown out of proportion. But on the other hand, it really isnt fair to members to be personally ridiculed/bullied anonymously via tags. Its a useless feature...

[ANNOUNCE] UPnP/DLNA Server - Fuppes

I've gone ahead and built Fuppes for Maemo 5.

See http://www.knownokia.ca/2011/03/upnpdlna-n900-server.html for a quick blurb as well as link to dropbox'd binary packages. This should make a lot...

Re: How stupid can UI design get?

Damn you're right!!

what you need to do is put your finger is EXACTLY on the menu border (make sure no item is highlighted, and it's not outside the menu so it won't disappear)
then you can just...

Re: Time for an open maemo fork?

I for one support rewriting NetworkManager. It has existed for, what, half a decade now, and still fails to support many basic use cases that "just worked" out of the box even on Nokia N800. Add to...

Re: Massive interactivity improvement under high I/O load!

(Typing this on the FastSMSEvo keyboard in portrait mode - N900 sure has come far with so little manufacturer support.) Anyway, I'm pretty certain it unmounts it. Simply making the card/MyDocs...

Re: Massive interactivity improvement under high I/O load!

Do you know what the MMC-driver actually does? It appears to simply make the device unavailable without unmounting it, but appearances can be deceiving so maybe it does more than that.

And when...

Re: Massive interactivity improvement under high I/O load!

Yes, because we want our SD cards corrupted if yanked out before unmounting.

It IS a good idea, but only in conjunction with swap relocating
scripts, in my opinion.

Re: Massive interactivity improvement under high I/O load!

I'd guess it's done by the MMC-driver in kernel. There's definitely no hw switching off uSD slot the hard way, but given the fact you can ruin a card by inadvertently removing it, I won't suggest to...
