Re: Why I keep my N810

Hello,

I am using my N810 for the following:

Re: Cleaning N900 FUD

Folks, I couldn't resist this quote (from José Saramago's Caín, translated from the Portuguese) which illustrates to a certain extent the ongoing debate:

"Los designios de dios son inescrutables,...

Re: Where's the MySpace support??

It looks like exactly what Chris is doing here, but some people here are more prone to interfere with his efforts than to be helpful.

Re: User-friendliness of talk.maemo.org

Considering the general climate here there will be probably more friction in the coming weeks, when new potential or actual buyers will come in to seek (also basic) information and may not be used to...

Re: User-friendliness of talk.maemo.org

I believe it would be wise to create a 'How to' section and move all content for new users and also slightly more advance users like myself in that section (no gainroots though). The wiki as such is...

Re: Fremantle and "Fit Width to View"

I watched the video by JKK and was quite disappointed by the double tap zooming function in the browser. It doesn't reflow the text to fit the width of the screen. :-(

Re: Minimalist Theme 2.0 is out!

A lonely world. At least there are some friends in these forums. Good luck on both fronts.

Re: cell phone radiation top-chart

How many years did it take to "prove" that cigarettes are dangerous for the health? I am not implying that cell phones represent a hazard for health (I am not an expert on these matters), nor would I...

Re: Fremantle and "Fit Width to View"

So we have apparently a workable solution for this issue.

If I understand correctly the FWTV buttons on the N8X0 have disappeared (the zoom function is reserved for the camera (any hints from...

Re: maemo.org changes now that we have m.n.c & FN

I don't believe it should evolve to become a platform aimed at (real) newbies to the same extent as it is for developers and advanced users. Of course occasional newbies may and should sometimes find...

Re: maemo.org changes now that we have m.n.c & FN

I am not a geek nor a programmer, but I like this forum a lot, maybe not so much for the applications which are often too complex for me, but for the discussion that take place here and for the work...

Folks, what a day. I only now was able to catch on the whole thread!

Meanwhile my desktop running XP got me again in trouble (totally new for me: the ethernet controller driver was missing and I...

Re: Open letter to the Maemo community

Thank you Texrat for this thread. I believe it is worth pausing and asking ourselves how things are going and, if needed, what can be improved.

I would like to throw-in a couple of points.

Re: Proposal for "Maemo User School" hosted on maemo.org to replace Tablet School

If the maemo web site is also geared towards the masses who will hopefully purchase some device running the maemo platform, then I think that Krisse is right. The current wiki does not respond to the...

Re: Proposal for "Maemo User School" hosted on maemo.org to replace Tablet School

I think many people are happy for krisse's come back and appreciate her proposals. She needs and deserves the support of the community. She has done a fine job in the past with her tutorials and has...

Re: The new talk.maemo.org theme

The new web site is certainly faster than the old version. Kudos for those who have contributed.

However it doesn't match some of the forum themes in terms of space usage, rendering speed and...

Re: Fremantle and "Fit Width to View"

I also use FTW a lot in order to read web sites comfortably without straining my eyes. If another function will do a similar job in the next tablet and easily, than it is fine. But otherwise better...

Re: Tablet Scene should be put out of it's Missery

Thanks, I missed that news. Good riddance. But how will the net device allow users to magnify text and avoid horizontal scrolling? Or maybe we are in for some surprise from Nokia?
