mal had some success with Lineage 14-based tree on #sailfishos-porters. It's not very different from cm13 from libhybris point of view.

I plan to sell mine OnePlus 2 and try to order Moto Z (Play)...

You have to be very patient because of missing Libhybris support for Cm14/Lineage14.

In case of SailfishOS, Android kernel is used anyway, so it should work as is if HID is implemented in kernel for Moto Mods and don't strictly depend on Android components written in Java to enable...

my understanding is that the motomod interface is greybus, mainline linux has support for this. the keyboard uses the hid interface. so it should be "easy" to get working if you can get a kernel new...
