I completely agree!! I bought an N9 last month and I can sadly say "such a waste". the device is beautiful, hardware is awesome, yet not as customizable as the n900. luckily i still have it, i think...

that code I mentioned earlier is to open a certain folder/file. but if you wanna open an html link or a picture then it is different. you need to call the browser. you're aiming to open an html file?...

Renaming the .desktop file won't change the name but it'll screw things up,, u gotta open the .desktop file using leafpad (the stock txt editor won't do the trick)
and u'll see something like...

I recommend using leafpad. u then have to type in terminal as "root"
leafpad /usr/share/applications/hildon/xxxxxx.desktop
it'll open something like this:
Name is what u're aiming for. then...

I suggest you read the script in the file (QtLockscreen.ini). everything is explained there. you can set your lockscreen to auto, portrait, or landscape.
