As far as recognition, It will take some work, though not overly much, to make the app run completely locally. It might be ~2-3MB per language, so around 90MB total, plus an additional 150MB or so...

You can just do the OTA update without uninstalling. Or you can uninstall first then update. Doesn't matter, either way you will then be running the stock PR1.3 kernel and will need to reinstall...

That's a good find! You're absolutely right, the patch allows your IMEI to be usable by Penpower.
