Re: Games that work well with DosBox

It's easy for anyone to check (extras-cauldron-builds is your friend). The last Fremantle build was built (https://garage.maemo.org/builder/fremantle/dosbox_0.74-0maemo6/armel.build.log.OK.txt)...

Re: Google drops XMPP support in its new chat/Talk/Hangouts

I don't know, I think when your communications provider suddenly and deliberately drops the ability to communicate with half your contacts is exactly the right moment to switch. What's the...

Re: Google drops XMPP support in its new chat/Talk/Hangouts

They did implement it (Mistral I think, I definitely remember using since the 770 days) but it's one of many things that got "fixed" in Fremantle.

Good :-)

Re: [Referendum] [Council] Hildon Foundation and Maemo Community Council(s)

That's a bad referendum. These are two distinct questions that people should be able to vote for/against independently of each other.

Re: [GENERAL NOTICE] Service Downtime

To whoever is able to fix this: the box at 188.117.59.198 (test.maemo.org) keeps trying to send me stuff from <www-data@wiki_and_bugs.maemo.org>, while advertising itself as mail.maemo.org. That is...

Are the mailing lists supposed to be working? Do you need any help with anything?

Re: xrandr on n810

There used to be packages on http://mikie.dy.fi/maemo/dists/diablo/user/binary-armel/xrandr_1.2.2-0_armel.deb and http://sse2.net/rotate/pool/main/x/xrandr/xrandr_1.2.2-0_armel.deb at least, but both...

Re: [IDEA] Install PC OS from your N9 / N900 ?

Yes, just like from any other USB mass storage device.

But that's easy and boring ;-) For extra credit, write a GUI that lets you select any .iso image from the filesystem and then (re)loads...

Re: backup of maemo resources - a community effort , keep zen no panic ...

Careful, several of these (eg tableteer, nokia-binaries and various non-free repo components) are proprietary and cannot be legally redistributed without licence from the copyright holders.

Apart...

Re: Need Help Using Gconftool

I'm not aware of any way to change the background via gconf (in fact I don't see any relevant keys there). There might be some dbus call to do it, but the only one I can find apparently doesn't work...

Re: [Council] Maemo Elections (September 2012)

If there are exactly 3 or 5 candidates we can't, they are all appointed to the council automatically with no vote required.

Re: [Council] Maemo Elections (September 2012)

This accidental loophole has been annoying me for years, but the rules are as written and require a referendum for any change. Neither Jaffa, the council or any other community member has any...

Re: Is this not real multitasking? [Android]

You know, most of the above also applies to Fremantle ;-) The underlying OS is more than capable, but the brilliant "UX designers" typically castrate it.

You replied and quoted it on post #23 right here :-)

Re: Anyone tried 128 GB Micro SD XC cards?

Hardware-wise, XC is HC. Wikipedia has more (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital) details.

There are some reports of working cards here (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=72957).

Timeline:

elections open
Texrat drops out
elections close
results are announced and this thread is started
I point out that we don't have a board yet
you jump in...

Re: Anyone tried 128 GB Micro SD XC cards?

Well, the proprietary exFAT filesystem isn't supported for obvious reasons, but reportedly they work fine after reformatting to something else. There are other threads here with more details but in...

Re: [Council] Board Election Results and Council Election Cycle Update

I'd like to offer my congratulations too, but I don't believe we have a board after this (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1282399&postcount=120). The bylaws clearly call for a new election...
