That is a big coincidence, I was just busy patching Gradius 2. No luck so far, maybe I have to try a different rom.

edit: tried a different rom and now it worked! It is a big improvement for sure....

new version of FBA is in the repo. Main change is incorporates the changes from v0.2.97.24 found here http://www.barryharris.me.uk/fba.php.
