I would still say stable is the go to for new users and LTS.
That being said most regulars use Testing on there daily drivers.
Do consider that Testing will replace some packages with FOSS clones...

Trouble again retrieving messages from FMMS.

I had a similar error in the past and llew had a nice trick to include the transaction...

git repositories on github have branches which should match:

master --> cssu-devel
stable --> cssu-stable

cssu-testing currently is not branched, packages comes from cssu-devel. cssu-stable...

It is, this is what I am using for cssu-thumb, however the risk of "polluting" it with packages from extras or other stuff while experimenting is higher than if you have dedicated VM just for CSSU.

actually better: git clean -dfxe .gitignore

but since he usually will build from a fresh clone this shouldn't be required in the normal case

Before running dpkg-buildpackage I would suggest to clean git repository of autogenerated and unwanted files:
git clean -fdx

(read manpage git-clean what it is doing!)

No, it is not, you just git clone && dpkg-buildpackage. The only care you should take is to keep your SB target clean from anything else but CSSU material.

* build new packages under clean scratchbox env (no extras, no devel)
* upload them to testing server
* update your (testing) device and test changes that new release will be OK
* wait some days...

Well, it is not like merlin1991 was kidnapped by aliens, he just don't have time to be cssu maintainer anymore.

Without asking him in advance, I am sure he will help the new maintainer to get used...
