Re: Jaaksi leaves?

Jaaksi's vision of Maemo (http://jaaksi.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-vision-of-maemo-at-least-part-of-it.html) was actually a big influence for me to get the N900. Almost a year later I still enjoy many...

Re: Looks like the MeeGo Handset UX is almost out

They need to save it all up for their big reveals, man. After those are done though, MeeGo will be all open, all the time.

That's what I'm told, anyway. I want to believe, but at this point I...

Re: Looks like the MeeGo Handset UX is almost out

Why the culture of secrecy? Why has the page been deleted? Come on... This is getting ridiculous.

Re: Maemo Missteps, your thoughts?

Well, I've seen some of the replies of old forum posters and developers, so I thought I'd bring in the view of a regular Joe.

Please excuse Regular Joe, he's a bit unpolished.

Re: Maemo Missteps, your thoughts?

A other misstep is in my opinion the removement of features and functions in the firmware updates without asking the community before and after this without explanation why it was removed or the...

Re: How to forbid multi-running an application?

Yes there is a simple way. Launch application via DBus (use .service file) and register application with osso_init(). Documentation is found for example from the wiki.

Re: Would you pay for a firmware upgrade?

I would pay $5 per a yearly firmware upgrade, provided it includes significant features addition.

Not fixes. Fixes should be provided in timely manner and for free, in the incremental updates...

Re: whar are the major improvements and developments of n900 since it was launched last september 2009?

Last I checked this was a forum for people who wanted to make use of what they had, not perpetually hear about people's problems with the device. Yes we know it's flawed. Yes we know Nokia does a bad...
