Well some things said are obviously too harsh. But i am just expressing my opinion. I used windows since Win95 and i just don't like the direction in which Win8 is going. Some love it and some hate...

You should contact ohrn from the Opera team. He had 2 N900's, both died.. Thats the reason why there is no Opera 12 for the N900. Maybe they will accept your offer and update Opera for the N900

Seems like one of your repositories isn't working anymore.
Try disabling all repositories and enable them one by one to find out which one is the trouble maker :)

White lists and "please wait" clocks inditacates internet connection issues. If it happens alot - try run nelisquare from terminal console using the following command "/opt/nelisquare/bin/nelisquare"...
