Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I don't know, I only now that switching AOSP blobs to the newest ones would probably fix our camera auto focus issue

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I think it means a device is already released by Sony but support is not yet officially announced by Jolla.

But I am just happy to see that they will officially support dual-sim and compact...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

https://blog.jolla.com/happy-2018/

Two new Sony Xperia devices will be supported: the dual-SIM X, and a "to-be-announced next generation device".

I'm probably going for the...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Regarding the high cost of OLED screens I just want to note that N9 display replacements, including controller and lightguide are currently selling for only 12€.

See ebay...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Exactly. You have reached the point where the bootloader can be unlocked.
Now you need to actually unlock.
(Warning: actually unlocking it will fry the DRM keys. Have you backed these up before ?...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

There's no need for a third party flashlight app or working with sources of other stuff. There's a flashlight toggle built into Sailfish X:

39601

39602

39603

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Hi.

You can try this: :D

[nemo@Sailfish ~]$ mcetool -E enabled

The screen is not OLED as in N9, but the pocket-effect works.

Regards.

Have anyone tried Tap to wake on official Sailfish X?

Does it drain the battery?

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

It works. But perhaps not how you or I would want to. If you have the camera application on screen, pressing the hardware button takes a picture. But if you don't have the camera application active...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

There are two flash-modes on the Xperia X:

The (pretty much universal) fastboot mode and a more "powerful" sony-specific flash-mode.

There is a special partition on which Jolla is supposed to...

Talking Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Even if its campaign succeeds and even if they manage to ship by January 2019 as they promised (63 months later than the original Jolla phone), Librem5 is just doomed. Even more than UbuntuPhone.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

To sum it up is sounds like you can do it with Emma in Windows and recovery + fastboot in Linux.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

And also they specify X Compact there! Seems like they'll make it official soon, too. Which is logical, since it's very similar to X HW-wise.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices
