Yes, hardware keys are allways better.
But specialkeys as virtual keypad are better (faster) to handle.
Accelerometer is only funny, if you play on an extern monitor.

On most homecomputers, you have only an joystick with one button.
So if you will go forward and jump, we need diagonal buttonmapping too.

I've tested Arnims binary of a psx4all version.
In it you can make basic movements in the menues.
Mousemovements in games were supported.

Later models, like the 500+ had even compatiblity problems with most games. So you even had to install an kickstart-switchboard from 2.04 to the most compatible 1.3, if you want to run all games.

I must start it with root permissions to make the GUI work.

btw : the included patch for Oddworld Abe's Oddysee works.
The graphic glitches are gone. :) ~ 30 fps
Ralley Cross 2 ~ 22 fps
Silent Hill ~21 fps with graphic glitches around the sprite and...

on english layout:
X to select, Q to quit, W to go back, arrow keys for directions.
You can load files with .bin extension.
Sometimes it doesn't load propper, you must press M.

It semms that the emu didn't recognize the memorycard.
Put the iso/bin in a folder on you internal 32 GB storage and all will be fine. :)
Be aware, that the emu didn't run with all converted...
