umm.. no shortcut (from what im aware of) for switching between 2G and 3G....
easiest option is to put the "Mobile Network" in ur settings as a shortcut (press and hold, itll ask if you want to add...

if im on wifi, my battery lasts ages!
for me its similar to you guys.. itll only drain about 20-30% if on wifi all day
but if im on 4G.. battery is gone in about 8-10hrs
3G it lasts a bit longer

i dont know what is using it?!!!
my emails are set to sync only once per day (only one email)
how often do twitter and facebook refresh...
