I don't think Google Maps uses the JSR 179 API. With regard
to db Rail Navigator, it took me a while to figure out what was
wrong, but apparently the code checks for a system property ...

Latest build (20120310) has GPS support through QtLocation (from the
QtMobility package). It works on the N900, I would like to hear if it also
works on the N9
...

I am thinking of adding a configuration option to do that, though

If the application itself adds an encryption layer over HTTP connections, then I guess it should be OK.

I used the bouncycastle implementation to add https support, but
maybe some things don't work the way they should.

Note that without https support, all your login credentials go over
the network...
