here's the way to have an icon on Your homescreen to restart bme without having to type all of that each time.
in text editor write:
/sbin/stop bme
/sbin/start bme
and then save it as...

just did it as written in post #13 and it works... I did it by unlocking the SIM tray and keeping it pressed with finger until the moment login screen appeared - then let it go and it goes offline......

last night installed new 0410 version and fasterN9, last stable version, too - idle consumption today, on 2G (with some Nokia Drive and QNeptunea in the bacground) - 14mA. excellent!

@muzimak well, to be honest, everything has been working as it should starting from many versions ago, at least from my point of view and usage. It's just consumption and crashing after voice call...

with the latest version 20092012-1225 idle consumption increased to 35mA... installed 15092012 again and idle consumption went down to usual 12-17mA (depending on 3g or wlan connection)…
