MeeGo/Maemo 6 doesn't necessarily mean better than Maemo 5, as I feel MeeGo is more like a mobile phone OS (for N9) rather than a mobile computer OS. As N950 has landscape hw keyboard and MeeGo...

Fremantle on N950 will be undoubtedly better than Harmattan which is designed for N9. Really hope to see Fremantle run in 1GB native ram and better CPU with N950 form factor. I would give up...

Because some of us still believe fremantle is way better than the other mobile OSes out there. ;)

Also, it seems that getting it running on n950 will bring lots of experience what one would expect...

My attempt at doing this failed on HardFP/SoftFP incompatibility.

Fremantle is SoftFP build, Harmattan is HardFP build.
So N950 3D drivers built for Harmattan's HardFP do not work in Fremantle...

Latest 0.9.6 version seems to have many speed improvements that would help our N900....

Newest version (0.7.6) for Maemo5, opening post updated.

It is upstream version compiled for N900 (so I would not say it is 'ported').

Yes, on N900, using same APKEnv version as you. Both 1.0.6 and 1.0.5 works for me.

Repository.maemo.org is back up at very slow speeds so most probably you haven't disabled them when adding skeiron hence you get low speeds from there... Skeiron.org should give you good speeds as...

MOD EDIT 22-04-2013: Since the migration is completed, the temporary repos are not needed. It should be fine using the default repos.
