Re: Bitcoin server running on an N900

No. You need to mine to earn bitcoin. But still, as said above, don't bother; even in shared mining pools and even if you have free (to you) power, you'll still not make enough to make it worth it,...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

I got to a point where some individual parts of it were working, but then stopped working on it and haven't done any more work/integration for a month or more.

Have another couple of personal...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

I haven't forgotten it but some weeks I get more...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

So I've probably done about a day and a half's work on it since the first post above, and I seem to have motivation to continue for now; but I also discovered (after using khteditor), Khertan has a...

[WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

Follows on from my most recent mbarcode thread post (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1417712#post1417712).

Yesterday+today I did some more (minutes) of dev work towards my plans for a...

Re: mbarcode

Well, I've had this on my mind for ages now and back in early February after my last post, I set to work to see how hard it was to create a plugin. I got it running my code easily; that wasn't much...

Re: mbarcode

I still use my N900 day to day and love mbarcode; recently wanted a way to use the bitcoin cryptocurrency more eaily on it; while I could install the regular packages, running the daemon would take...

Re: KeePassX v2 for Maemo 5 Nokia N900

v2 (from February '13) used to work on CSSU/Stable for me, but now (since a forced fresh reflash of PR1.3 then upgraded to CSSU/Testing) using the same keepass db file runs ok but fails to import the...

Smile Re: Fixing USB port, before and after it is to late. (All info in one Thread) (See POST #1)

My N900 got bricked a few weeks ago after applying a cssu major upgrade and as my usb port had fallen out ages ago I wasn't able to reflash it. I'd survived on external battery chargers and multiple...

Re: The mighty n900 week 2013 (Day 7 of 7)

In 2011 I knew 4 other people with an N900 (here in London, UK). You might expect something like it, but they are all software developer Linux geeks (as I am).

Since then, they've all except for...

I got it working again, somehow everything's fine without me really changing stuff... Maybe a corrupted config (I was trying to fsck the /home/user mount and forgot it rewrites /etc/fstab so taht...

Question Re: Problems with Modest and Gmail

Fixed the same issue for me with CSSU/Stable (6.1). Also made it much faster than old Nokia PR1.3 so look forward to that if you upgrade! For some reason it was behaving as though it had the old...

default (alpha?) theme backgrounds broken after upgrade to cssu

I just upgraded my N900 from PR1.3 (.1, I think) to CSSU/Stable (6), and somewhere along the way it broke my default (alpha, I believe its called - the watery one on black background) theme...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

Still glad I have it, though I'm getting more and more tempted by a Galaxy S4 or somesuch (hurry up Tizer, Ubuntu, Jolla, etc. give us more options! <laughs at Windows Phone still>), but I am scared...

Re: (ASK-REQUEST) Porting SOZI to maemo

I think inkscape is going to be a bit big and heavy on the N900 if it really needs inkscape installed, but the others ought to be do-able (dont know how easy). Presume you would plan on showing this...

Well could someone send me their 32mafw and I'll see if that helps me. Interested to know if your next reboot works too, after you removed it.

Yes, I definitely have a daemon package without the...

Lightbulb Re: [Announce] "Alarmed" scheduling App (supports automatic GPRS data counter resetting)

Yes, "sh" is the standard unless you NEED features from bash; sh is faster, and probably one is a symlink to the other anyway on most Linux installs nowadays.

Now for the 2nd simplification.....

Do you really mean keeping the finger parallel to the screen? Not perpendicular...?

PS: the thread title isn't very useful -...
