I'm uploading new Qt packages right now, if you don't mind lost rootfs space, update now, it'll be recovered with the next update.
Modest -> tap title bar -> Settings -> Tree view mode does...

Forgot to say there's a new gconf key to make the FMTX applet always visible.
gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/maemo-statusmenu-fmtx/always_visible -t bool true
Also, tapping and holding the applet...
