Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

I replied to 2 postings, to yours I didn't mention love or anger, just a guess at what you might need to look at, not pretending to be a Linux kernel or audio expert.

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

It won't. My script-fu is strong enough and I'm willing to do it, safely (no initfs reflashing). Behaviour could be controlled through an /etc file, and if someone could write a control pannel applet...

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

Not sure if I would call it a bug fix, more of a change in default behaviour. In any case, modifying linuxrc (in the initfs) would be a bit problematic at the moment :-(

You also need source...

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

"Stalled" would be more accurate - I just hadn't had any spare time to work on hobby projects lately (sorry, but Real Life gets in the way sometimes...)

But, yeah, some more community involvement...

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

So you have some test/sample programs of alsa-lib you want to run? The bug report says to me that some kernel work will have to be done to modify the audio device driver. I would say you need to...

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

I like how in a bug report they say it's in maintenance mode only which means it will never get updates, and then looking farther mer was supposed to come and then it just died... Seems nothing is...

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

The Sharp Netwalker (successor to the Zaurus line) [http://pricejapan.com/front/e_good_info.php?code=876&category=5] seems to be about the closest to an n810 successor that I've seen. 5 inch...

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

Step up and get involved if you want to see updates. Try to find a bug fix to apply to a package that you care about. What bugs are bothering you?

Re: 'Fixed in Fremantle' and Diablo community SSU

I hope this is not true. Please somebody tell me that there is a huge update being worked on.

In the mean time, should we be talking about things to fix, and what can be fixed?

Re: Wake On Power option

What do you mean? Have the N810/N900 boot up into the desktop when the charger is plugged in instead of showing the charging/blank screen, respectively?

If so, for the N900 "flasher-3.5(.exe)...

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

on the subject of GMA500.. don't let it totally dissuade you away from, say, the Fujitsu U820 (aka U2010). It's a great machine, and you can get linux working on it pretty well with accelerate video,...

Not sure why that search link didn't work, but I'll just point out that this (http://wiki.maemo.org/Diablo_Community_Project) is also a resource.

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

yeah.
If n810 had more powerfull cpu and a bit more ram and run any other free (without Nokia's licenses) OS, plus IRda and some buttons on the top panel (like n800) - it would be da best MID for me.

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

The...

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

That fails the Open OS requirement, as Windows Mobile was not open last I checked. And it makes the "other OSes" real hard, since you'll spend more time porting the kernel than doing anything else.

Re: Is there anything comparable to the N810?

The pandora would come closer than the n900. The specs are about the same as for the n900, but without the phone functionality.

It may take a while before you...
