Basically it is adequate if you:
-don't listen to mp3's
-don't need navigation on vacation or when visiting friends/other cities/etc
-don't want any third party developed games or applications...

Nokia is a brand that caters to Third World Countries. Nokia can never compete in USA. the only phones Nokia can sell in USA are pennies.

Yeah, and what does that mean, Quim? Are you trying to claim 10.9 million separate downloads? Does each update to an app count as a separate download? Surely Nokia knows how many devices it has sold....

Completely agree. If this is a $500 computer I expect updates. If this is a $500 phone I expect updates and software support.

The N900 is great in a few ways, lets call it the tweaking nerd...
