You may disagree with that opinion, and that's fine. If Reggie tells me I was wrong I'll of course go by whatever he says.

It wasn't that I 'disagreed' with you - it was that I do know what I am talking about.

I find the 'moderation' of that thread still to be incredibly incompetent and I hope that Reggie has a word or two with any moderator that posted in it.

To quote Reggie:

"Please do not distribute or link to any non-official beta, early release, or hacked files here in maemo.org. It is against Nokia's EULA and considered illegal. Members doing so may be legally charged with copyright infringement. We advice that you stop proliferating such files immediately.

Let's put a stop on it her right now. Please stop sharing the illegal file(s) on other threads, your signatures, or private messages.

For the community, please report posts and/or members who are still linking to the illegal files. The posts will be deleted and the reported members may be banned.

Thank you."

And I will be sure to do exactly what Reggie is asking for:

For the community, please report posts and/or members who are still linking to the illegal files. The posts will be deleted and the reported members may be banned.

If there's a consensus that I'm incompetent I will cheerfully relenquish damned-if-you-do-or-don't moderator duties and let someone else deal with the difficulty and ingratitude.

Maybe someone wants to create a poll?

This is sad.

I support Tex and the way he exercises his duties. I'd take 1000's of Tex's over a single draconian dictator any day.

Some people just need to grow up and enjoy being on a forum.

Thanks fatalsaint, but I just decided to resign. Who needs the hassle, incompetent or otherwise?

This is a depressing day.

I understand the decision; but think it may have been rash. Probably should have slept on it like I did PR1.2 ;).

Where is penguinbait these days?

As for the rest: pshaw!

EDIT: I take too long to respond, clearly. I'm sorry you feel you need to decide as you did, Texrat.

Not bailing out of childishness. Just making too many errors in judgment and thinking my energies are best spent elsewhere. But feel free to volunteer your own services, eagle.

I don't think you realize just how often Tex has to defend himself against extreme over-generalizations like this.

Eventually - everyone quits. It has nothing to do with being childish but with being fed up.

*sigh*

Oh well.... I hope Tex that you still plan to hang out on the forums ;).
