Something specific? Nothing except that : C'est l'été donc il fait chaud! D

For providers, I use Fido, but it's not prepaid. Try to connect to their site to be aware of their prices. You can also check: Rogers, Koodoo mobile.

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)

if you can ...try to aim to be in central canada (ontario/ quebec) in september.

The mosquitoes, blackflies, horseflies, deerflies and other such lovely companions will have died off...the temperature will begin feeling less like you are rubbing your entire body with the underwear of a very active sumo wrestler in the bottom of a very moist aquarium ...unable to breathe decently...due to said heat and humidity... and sweating even in air-conditioned places. Simply sitting still in such conditions is uncomfortable.
With summer temps day temps feeling like 45-50 degrees celsius with we call the Humidex (Humidity Index= after daytime temps reach about 18 degrees celsius the temp starts jumping and jumping and the Humidity then begins to kick in making the temp jump higher still...it can be unpleasant) and night time temp drops 20+ degrees....making it a little hard on the constitution overall. Family back east currently say the weather has been (temp wise) very good so far...they haven't been hit with the heat yet. It tends to end round september anyway.

Just a heads up so you get the most out of your stay and don't come during a most uncomfortable time.
So yeah...if you have people you know here...honest to Bob.
Tell them to contact you the moment the leaves begin to change. Then get your butt over.
Make sure you get the opportunity to spend as much time as possible outside the cities...
Take as many drives through the countryside down dusty rolling-hilled backroads as possible.
I Grew up in rural North-Northwestern Ontario. Family all over the country...east to west coast ...now. So I know of what I speak.
It is like no sight on earth to see..
The colours are wonderous...

Hmm...and oh yeah...petro-can gas stations carry cards (and 7/11 convenience stores too I think) good for 2g that'll work...it ain't much...but it's good across pretty much the whole country as you travel too... and you don't have to stick just to the big mega-cities like with the 4g networks... should do you in a pinch.

P.S. ya the big boys got everything sewn-up here...by gov't trying to bring in more competition...the big 3 will only lose. I mean when you and your buds are collecting pretty much 90% of the consumer money...any new little guys are going to try to take a chunk...so it is only a loss for the big guys...all that being said...we do have a hell of a comm infrastructure here.
