Re: overclocking kernel modules for PR1.2

Sweet. Bumped my CPU up to 1.1GHz with SmartReflex on. Anyone got a startup script that can apply this every boot?

does 1.1 GHz give a performance boost in usabilty ?
It's only 100MHz more i mean

Yes, albeit not very much, as you expected.
If you go back and read through this thread it has been demonstrated already.

If someone wants a nice qml UI we could link to a live setting of freq/voltage I can do it... But i'm definitly missing of knowledge in meego harmattan scripts&user rights...

Well after a google search and a wee bit of tinkering, I've just figured out how to use opensh within a script, it's quite simple really.
I'll edit this post with a link to a “how to” thread once I've made it.
Here's a hint for now, you could use two scripts......

Here ya go - [How to] Use opensh within a script for root access

Does anyone here have any doubt how change the overclock to 1,1 Ghz?
My doubt now is.. Can change to 1,2 Ghz? no problem?
Thank very much

disable smartreflex before trying 1.2ghz or it will probably restart and there is potential for data loss every time that happens

I thought that might work, but remember I might change the interface so don't spend too long to make it perfect!

I didn't have time to work on this today, dentist appointment ruined my day :(
Last night I made a test where I tell smartreflex to recalibrate when we change the speed. I hoped it will raise the voltage lots automatically, but it seems stupid and only gives a little extra. I'll upload the new version because it should help with stability but don't expect 1.2ghz + smartreflex working, it fails for me. Btw safest is disable sr, change frequency, enable sr. calibration is not instant.
Anyone smart know why it reboots sometimes when switching to a lower frequency? I'm guessing I need to lock it to a lower frequency before changing the high one, or maybe there's some better idea?

Hi Creamy Goodness
If I disable smartreflex the life of my battery will decrease?
How i can disable and enable the smartreflex in the N9?

okay, i'll try to clean up the first post a bit, the info is there, just hard to see in the wrong font and without full examples.

Thank now all right :p

no prob. It might freeze when you enable smartreflex but if it doesn't then it's probably good battery life.
