Finally, after about 15 to 20 days of hardwork in my spare time (edit: and further 8 days of typing the guide), I have something really beautiful thing to give to my most loved community.


THIS is NOT an APP, its a transformation pack which requires some resources like themes, transitions, icons, depending apps and plugins. etc.

So here we go!, the look and the intro Image as a sneak peek.








To get this modification, please follow the step by step Guide attached (linked) below (the guide format is .pdf).

This is a BETA Release so, If you have any major problem, then please report me, I will try to solve it for you in my spare time.

Basic Requirements:
1.Nokia N900
2.CSSU (Testing Flavor >=T2.1) [P.s. CSSU Stable not supported till further informed]
2.1 CSSU Stable is Supported but not confirmed by users!
3.SSH (WinSCP Client or similar) (and knowledge of transferring files over ssh)
4.Backup-menu (or Backup-menu for Multiboot]
5.Know how to reflash [at rare cases]

Note: Download 2,3 and 4 and setup them from respective repositories.

So you also ported swype unlock , that's not cool , it's f***ing cool . It seems I didn't take a bad decision when I refused to sell my N900 . :)

nope... it uses qtlockscreen.... ;) ... its like swipe on plain black screen from left to right to unlock .... just wait till the video is out in a couple of days and you can experiance it... :)

Now this is freaking awesome! I've been hoping for someone to come up with a new UI.

Though, I'm not too sure on the project name. I would suggest one of these:

The Name of the Project is abbreviated from
"Maemo + Meego + Nemo = MaeMeeMo"

Is it a bad name? ... I mean, does it mean something in other languages.. like, funny or bad one... if yes I will try to change to a new name.

Welcome,
I can try powerkey + tap instead of Powerkey+slide as at present, double tap to unlock is not possible from my side as I'm just assembling some resources and required apps to create this mod (transformation) pack. Double tap to unlock need coding, which I cant do btw I saw that feature in Nemo but that doesnt work at present. ;)

Anyway If there is a possibility with QtLockscreen then we can implement it.

looks nice, though personally i kinda don't feel the Quick App Shortcut quite fit in the bottom bar
I'd prefer the bottom bar kept simple with black/white icons (not user customizable apps with various color icons)
but still, it makes me love my N900 even more. great job!!!

Now it would be good if QtLockscreen wouldn't be just running alongside Maemo's native lockscreen Hildon plugin*, but replacing it.
* w/ all known issues
Otherwise, neat idea, even if by reference/design its portrait only.

No numbers yet but, its more fast (at 4 homescreens with lots of widgets and 600mhz), and I feel some battery increase, but cant guarantee.. :) . its just a pack of

1. theme 2. transitions 3. icons 4. QBW 5. App Icons, and Qtlockscreen, thats it... no extra stuff.. :)

yep, maybe in a week or two... as I have very little spare time and have to write about 100s of instructions step by step, with rechecking.. :)

yeah, I think the same, and even good if have can have a qt-status-menu that can replace the current ;), then it would have been complete. :)

MaeMeeMo will work in both landscape and/or portrait, but at present i'm having some problem with portrait wallpapers otherwise it would work flawlessly for both modes for me. :)

yes, its the only one which I feel more comfortable.

I think its 80 percent perfect, as there is some more gap at the bottom, btw you can try whichever icons you want.

the icons are user customizable because they are normal app shortcuts. :)

yes, if you have landscape portrait wallpapers working... there are seperate wallpapers for both of them.

edit: in my case, I have some problem with that.

I'm guessing CSSU is a requirement, (which I don't have, but this mod may give me the incentive to install CSSU if it's needed).

sorry, it is not in .deb format but I'll be providing very easy to understand instructions guide, so it would be very easy,

this is just a mixture of couple of things like
(theme, icons, wallpaper, qtlockscreen, qbw, etc.), so .deb is not needed. (though its a lenghty process but the outcome it awesome).

As I already said this is a transformation pack (mod), which gives you a look like Nemo mobile, if you want portrait keyboard you can use mcip or others.

(p.s. i would do it but I'm not a programmer, btw if anyone can use mcip's code and make a replacement keyboard with other languages then it would be the greatest work ever on maemo5.)

Will this ultimately replace the hildon-home and hildon-desktop stuffs? I mean does it intend to become completely new UI for maemo 5? I would love if that's the case. I would still love it if it intends to be only desktop replacement (SPB Shell :) )! Will try it after download is available and I have time.

This is NOT a hildon stuff replacer, its just a pack of theme+icons+widgets+lockscreen+etc. which gives you a look of nemo mobile.

I already know how you came up with the name. But I feel it's best to keep OS names with no more than 2 syllables. If you want to keep Mae, Mee, and Mo in the name, then it's probably better to order it as Mo-Mae-Mee so it rhymes with Do-Re-Mi which is from the Sound of Music (Google it). It's just my suggestion. You don't have to take it into consideration.
